Hoof Photos

This is a photo of our mare Lucita's foot. We got her 2 years
ago as a founder rehab. It's been a long road for her, she's still
trying to grow a well connected foot. There has been extensive internal
damage and bone remodeling in this "classic sinker."

Some people might say that the toe needs to be brought back, but let me
tell you Lucita needs that bit of hoof wall to assist with support - due to
an utter lack of healthy material (sole & frog) on the underside of the foot.

Rock crusher on my 4 year old Mavis - Straight, smooth and short - this is a well connected healthy hoof.

This horse can go anywhere at gait, and you should see why. Please
notice the frog, its size, shape and toughness. It is the ultimate
landing zone.
